Olivette Postel Samuels, Jr. was born on November 26, 1978, in Columbia, South Carolina to Patricia Noble Reedy and Olivette Samuels, Sr. He departed this earthly journey on Saturday, June 12, 2021.
Olivette, known as “Chip”, was educated in the public schools of Richland County School District Two. He was an entrepreneur and a homemaker.
“Chip” was known for his angelic singing voice and his ability to minister and counsel individuals through their trying situations. Everywhere Chip went, he made sure to express the love of God to anyone he encountered.
“Chip” was preceded in death by his sister, Carmen Lovettee Middleton.
Olivette leaves to cherish his memories his wife, LaShonda Samuels; three daughters, Tatrice Samuels, Tayvion Samuels, and Dianna Samuels; three sons, Mykell Samuels, Gregory Samuels, and JaCorey Samuels; parents, Patricia (Ruth) Reedy and Olivette (Linda) Samuels, Sr.; siblings, Tangela (Toni) Thompson, Juanita (Tammy) Williams, Gregory (Mildred) Aiken, Jeremiah (Christa) Samuels, Keishawn Youngblood, Corey Blanding, Amber Baker, and Erin Samuels; sisters-in-law, Santina Blondshaw and Tiasha Belton; father-in-law, Willie Richardson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews and friends.
