Mr. Michael Leon Rumph

Michael Leon Rumph was born July 6,1954 to the late John D. Rumph, Sr. and Anna Jeffcoat Rumph. He departed this life on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Michael was educated in the public schools of Richland County. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Class of 1974 where he excelled in track, basketball, football and baseball. He later furthered his education at South Carolina State University.

Michael was employed with Piggly Wiggly as a truck driver and later with Hardaway Concrete as driver for over forty years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Mervin Rumph; and two sisters, Margaret and Bobbie Lee Rumph.

Michael is survived by his wife, Mattie Rumph; children, Vincent (Sherita) Evans, Demichah (Kimberly) Rumph, and Nicole (Roderick Lynn) Martin; siblings, Betty Gaines, Annette Funchess, Johnnie Ruth (William) Conde, John D. Rumph, Jr., James B. Rumph, Rosellen Rumph, William J. Rumph, Patricia A. Rumph, Jacqueline Chambers, Marteau A. (Shirley) Rumph, JoAnn Rumph, and Robert E. Rumph; mother-in-law, Stiney Parson; three sisters-in-law, Sandra King, Loujeania Gadson, and Cynthia Delaney; two brothers-in-law, Richard Bookert and Clifton Bookert; six grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.
