Mr. Michael E. Boyles

Michael Eugene Boyles was born on February 23, 1955, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved son of the late Oscar David Sr. and Althea Boyles. He peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Prisma Health Richland.

At an early age, Michael joined Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church #1, where he found joy in fellowship and community.

Michael worked as a bus driver for the Central Midlands Regional Transit Authority until his retirement in 2020. He loved interacting with people and took pride in the relationships he built while serving the Columbia community. His bright spirittouched many lives, and though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Joanne W. Boyles; his loving daughter, Britton (Kelvin) Jenkins; his brother, Oscar David (Maurine) Boyles Jr.; his sisters, Angela Boyles and Mary Ann (Ervin) Gay; his beloved grandchildren, Kayden, Kamryn, Kyle, and Karter Jenkins; as well as a host of other dear relatives and friends. Michael will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
