Leroy Lee Coulbourne was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 19, 1946, to late James and Phyllis Coulbourne. He departed this earthly journey on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
Leroy attended Jamaica High School in Queens, New York. Leroy was a general contractor and loved making things with his hands. He owned L & L Construction and worked for Kahn and Jacobs Architecture in New York. He was later employed as the Head of Maintenance on Fort Jackson. He was also a Vietnam Veteran and retired from the United States Army Reserves as a sergeant.
Leroy loved to gather with friends and have a good time. He had an infectious laugh and contagious smile. Leroy had great confidence and named himself the “The L Factor”. He was proud to be a New Yorker and he would always let you know that he was born in Brooklyn, New York. His favorite sport was basketball and his favorite team was the New York Nicks. He played in the world famous Rucker’s Park League in his early twenties.
In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Coulbourne.
Leroy is survived by his first wife, Marian Louise Coulbourne and their children, Tinarenee Riley (Cantrele), Natasha King (Anthony), and Joy Coulbourne (Rusty); his sister, Linda Coulbourne; six grandchildren, Nala Riley Tribble (Joshua), Nadia Riley, Nina Riley, Anthony King Jr., Nicholas King, and Brooklyn James; two great-grandchildren, Lillian and Vera Tribble; his sisters-in-law, Laura Outlaw, Marva Diamond (Ernest), Mary Taylor and EmilyToliver; his brothers-in-law, John Toliver and Harvey Chapman; and a host nieces, nephews family and friends.
