Mr. Lathaniel Epps

Lathaniel Epps was born on July 30, 1967, to the late Nathaniel Epps and Bettye Burgess Epps in
Englewood, New Jersey. Lathaniel passed away on February 2, 2025 in Columbia, South
Carolina.
Lathaniel had many nicknames that he was often referred to. Those names consist of Larry, Milk
Dud, Bubba Chops and Junior. He was educated in the Englewood Public School System. After
graduation, he became a mechanic but quickly realized that his true passion was driving.
Larry dreamed of one day having his own business, driving tractor trailers on the interstate. It
was his goal to own his own truck. That goal was accomplished in 2021, when he purchased his
first truck and off he went cross-country, spreading laughter with every load.
Family was everything to Larry. He made sure to always reach out, visit, and check on his
family. No matter the state, Larry would always call, letting it be known that he would be
stopping through. He wanted it to be clear, that when he arrives, there’d better be food prepared
for him and of course, it always was!
Larry was the epitome of what true love and care is supposed to look like. He was war our
Family Ambassador. We will all miss him so much.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Epps and his maternal and paternal
grandparents.
Larry leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Jaelyn “Venus” Robinson; his loving mother,
Bettye Epps; sister, Cynthia (Steve) Pointer; brother, Nathaniel Epps; one niece, two nephews;
and a host aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will all miss him dearly.
