Mr. Keith Hamilton Alleyne (age 78) was born on March 15, 1947, in St. Michael, Barbados, West Indies. He entered into rest on Wednesday June 18, 2025.
At an early age, Keith learned plumbing from his father, Vincent Alleyne and went on to become a master plumber, owning his own businesses in both New York and South Carolina.
In 1973, Keith joined his family in Brooklyn, New York. The 70’s was well known as the “age of disco”. This was when he developed a love of DJ’ing and quickly became an expert on the “ones and “twos”. Anyone driving, or walking down Fenimore Street would be greeted with the sound of music pouring from his speakers. As a result, he DJ’d at many parties and events in the 70’s and 80’s.
Keith was affectionately known as “Rob/Robin” to his family and many friends as he was growing up. He was a shining light to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion and his faith in God. He believed in starting and ending his day with reading passages from a Bible which was given to him by his mother Joyce. The pages of which have become worn, but lovingly repaired by tape, as he refused to use any other. Those who came across his path were sure to be met by his famous greeting, “One Love, Peace”.
In December 1999, Keith moved from Brooklyn, to Columbia, SC. In 2003, he met and fell in love with Janie Hunter and they were married on April 7, 2007.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Joyce Alleyne; two of his brothers, Leroy and Leslie Alleyne; and a sister Marvelyn Mayers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Janie Hunter-Alleyne; daughters, Karan Joseph, Jacobina Yisrael, Stephanie Benson and Jewel Henderson; sons, Thania Lopez, Hezekiah Yisrael and Adaiah Yisrael; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings, Joan Jordan, Neville (Jan) Alleyne, Esther (David) Jones and Marquita (Jesse) Knight; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. May his memory be shaped by his final moments, which were spent in prayer. Let us also remember his love, laughter, and legacy that he leaves behind. "One Love, Peace!"
