Keaon Jaquan Cox was born on August 9, 1994 in New York, New York to Tawana Haynes and Dale Cox. His young life ended on March 15, 2020.
Keaon graduated from Douglas Byrd High School in Fayetteville, NC.
Keaon was a veteran of the U.S. Army. While serving he earned several medals including: an Army Commendation, Army Good Conduct, National Defense Service, Global War on Terrorism, and Korea Defense Service. He also received ribbons for Non-Commissioned Officer and Professional Development. While serving his country, Keaon also furthered his education by taking courses online.
As a self-disciplined, generous, patient, and God-fearing warrior, Keaon had big dreams. He was always concerned with helping others and even created a YouTube channel dedicated to helping those in need. He was attending Lander University pursuing his Master’s in Business.
Keaon was a big NY Giants fan and enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his friends and family.
Keaon is survived by his parents, Tawana Haynes and Dale Cox; two brothers, Tyler Cox and Dupree Pearson; one aunt, Lamesha Haynes; one uncle, Dwayne LeGrant; cousins, A’swantia Edwards, Za’Lawna Haynes, Zipporah Haynes, KaMarion Haynes, and Aubrey Haynes; extended family in Fayetteville, NC, Chicago, IL, Texas, Korea, and Greenwood, SC; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
