Joseph Ulice Bright, Jr. was born on March 11, 1967, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of Joseph Bright, Sr. and Alyse Boyd. Joseph embraced his eternal journey with the Lord on October 28, 2024.
Joseph was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a proud graduate of Eau Claire High School, Class of 1985. He valued his connection to the lively Shamrock Alumni community.
Joseph dedicated his life to Christ at an early age. He was a kind, caring, and thoughtful man known for his gentle spirit and giving heart. His family affectionately called him “Lil Joe”, and his friends called him “Joe.” He had a deep passion for sports, especially football. He was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Joseph will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will be remembered for his humble nature and the significant impact he had on the lives of others.
Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Ronette Bright.
Joseph is survived by his three daughters, Jessica Bright, Aukevia “Shay” Sutton, and Jasmine (Nyshia) Hammonds; one son, Daiquarius “Bug” Coleman; three grandsons, Aceton, Paxtsyn, and Carsyn; three granddaughters, Peyton, Addison, and Cameron; father, Joseph (Denise) Bright, Sr.; mother, Alyse Boyd; brother, Carlos (Ebony) Bright; sister, Monica Williams; two step-brothers, Cliff Lewis and Lamarr Lewis; step-sister, Chenier Lewis-Gordon; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. His legacy of love will remain in their hearts.
