James Raymond Jones was born on March 4, 1939 in Pomaria, South Carolina to the late Mr. James Jones and Mrs. Ruby Cromer Jones. He departed this earthly journey on December 27, 2020, at his home.
James Raymond was educated in the public schools of Newberry County.
James Raymond was a member of Saint James A.M.E Church in Pomaria, South Carolina where he was a class leader, man of faith, and served faithfully in various capacities until his health declined.
James Raymond was self-employed as a licensed barber and employed by Mepco, formally known as General Electric Corporation.
James Raymond was preceded in death by his two daughters, Sharesa Crystale Jones and Tara Blocker; three brothers, Roy Lee Jones, George Ray Jones and Charles Atwood; and two sisters, Inez Cole and Lillie Mae Atwood.
James Raymond leaves to cherish memories to his loving wife, Sharon Foster-Jones of Columbia, SC; two daughters, LaDawn Foster of Columbia, SC and Sabrina Foster of Atlanta, GA; three sons, James R. (Sandra) Jones, Steven R. (Teresa) Jones both of Pomaria, SC, and Dr. Dion (Kimberly) Foster of Charleston, SC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
