James Crawford Hall, affectionately known as “JC,” was beloved by all. JC was born to the late Edward Hall and Mary Free Hall on September 6, 1941, in Columbia, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.
Educated in the public schools of Richland County, Mr. Hall was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High school in 1960. JC was a dynamic baseball player in his youth. His outstanding pitching skills earned him the nickname, “Whip,” and he was even a member of a championship team within the National Negro Little League. Mr. Hall enjoyed a career as a painter and later as a driver, providing transportation and other services for Seniors. He loved helping others and had an excellent work ethic.
To know Trustee Hall is to know that he loved the Lord and loved serving his church. He had a giving spirit and always sought ways to assist others. Mr. Hall was baptized at an early age at his family’s home church, Antioch Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. There he served faithfully as a Trustee and member of the Usher Board and Brotherhood. Trustee Hall had such a myriad of talents he enjoyed passing the time. He enjoyed painting, studying trains, fishing, and landscaping. To know him is to know that he absolutely loved his Washington

Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, sister Frances Elizabeth Smith, and special companion, Gladys Derrick.
James’ loving memory will be cherished by his son, James Christopher (Janitra) Hall of Greenville South Carolina, grandchildren, Princess Williams, Tameer Williams, Jade Williams and Jessica Hall, sister, Edna (Robert) Harrison of Columbia, South Carolina, nephews, Donald Curtis, Alexander Smith, and Edward (Teosha) Harrison, nieces, Linda (Larry) Mitchell, Yolanda Harrison, and Robin (Eric) Mayo, great nieces, Edona (Walter) Williams and Emani (Tywon) Pelzer, best friend, Sylvester Taylor, and a multitude of family, church members, and close friends.
