Mr. Ivory Maurice Hall Obituary

Mr. Ivory Maurice Hall son of Cyrus Earl, Sr. and Betty Hall, was born October 2nd, 1978 in Columbia, South Carolina. On Friday morning May 1st, 2026 at Prisma Heart Hospital Maurice transitioned peacefully surrounded by family.

Maurice received his formal education in the public schools of Richland County School District One, graduating from C.A. Johnson High School in 1997. After graduation Maurice entered the workforce making contributions at Palmetto Health Baptist in rehab therapy. He also ventured into the landscaping business. He started his career as a firefighter in 2006 with the City of Columbia. For fifteen years he was a dedicated fireman that served his community until he was medically retired in June of 2021.

If you knew Maurice, you knew he was a hardworking man that didn’t mind getting his hands dirty. He loved working on cars everyone’s “favorite mechanic”. His recent obsession was restoring his 1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass. He loved his boys dearly, and you would often find him stopping in the middle of working on someone’s car to go and see about his boys, running them to a practice or game.

Maurice was a husband, father, loving son and a loyal friend. Even though he was dealing with a health condition he kept going.

He was preceded in death by his brother Cyrus Earl Jr., maternal and paternal grandparents, father-in-law Cecil Fogle.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of nineteen years, Cecelia Hall; two sons, Isaiah Hall and Ian Hall; his loving mother, Betty Hall; his father, Cyrus Earl, Sr.; two aunts, Odessa Kah of Columbia, South Carolina and Kathy (John) Jones of Baxley, Georgia; two uncles, Eddie James (Pearl) Hall of Hazlehurst, Georgia and Oliver (Rutha) Hall of Baxley, Georgia; his mother-in-law, Gladys Fogle; three sisters-in-law, Sharon, Keisha Fogle, and Kendra Taylor Hall; two nephews, Cyrus E. Hall, III and Christopher Herrin all of Columbia, South Carolina. He also leaves to mourn his passing a host of cousins, and other relatives and friends.
