Isaac General Canteen II affectionately known as ‘Ikey’, 36 of Columbia, departed this life on November 17, 2020. He was born October 8, 1984, in Columbia, SC to Isaac General Canteen I and Ola Mae Canteen (Lance).
Isaac attended W.J. Keenan High School, where he excelled in academics and band. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 13, and was a member of Gunter’s Chapel Baptist Church. He was currently employed at Pet and Prim Parlor. He enjoyed and loved spending time with his son and always wanted him to do his best because he wanted to, not because he said to. Ikey always loved music, and he always marched to the beat of his own drum, literally and figuratively.
Everyone will remember Isaac for his direct personality, as well as his willingness to help others. He would often do more for others than himself. We will also keep his never-ending smile and his genuine love to be close to those he loved near and dear to our hearts. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
Isaac is survived by his parents; his son, Malachi Canteen; his bonus daughters, Skiasia and Senazha Fisher; his sisters, Moneshia Murray (Alvin), and Ola ‘Shay’ Canteen of Columbia; his grandmother, Evelyn Lance; his nephews, Jamari, and Alvin III; his nieces, Alexis, Davonna, Olivia, and Jorja; his aunts and uncles and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Clifford Grimmage and Rosa Lee Canteen; and his maternal grandparents Malachi and Julia Mae Lance.
