Harvey Wendell Springs was born on January 18, 1959 in John’s Island, South Carolina to the late Harold and Rachel Wilson-Springs. He entered into eternal rest on September 8, 2021 surrounded by his beloved family.
Harvey began his collegiate journey in 1977 at the University of South Carolina. He later served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, retiring in 2007. He was proud to serve his country. He was a dedicated worker at Fort Jackson with the maintenance team for their club systems.
Harvey was married to Gloria Butler Springs for 40 years and they were blessed with one daughter, Raven Symone Springs on April 7, 1991. They all shared a wonderful life together. Harvey was a devoted family man and was admired by everyone around him.
Harvey leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful wife, Gloria Butler Springs of Columbia, SC; his loving daughter, Raven Symone Springs of Columbia, SC; two brothers, Jessie (Kimberley) Wilson of Irmo, SC and Curtis O. Springs of John’s Island, SC; one sister, Constance E. Springs of John’s Island, SC; two nieces, Jessica A. Wilson and Kelsey B. Wilson; three nephews, Donovan L. (Cherika) Wilson, Chad A. Wilson, and Trenton L. Springs; two great-nieces; four great-nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
