Mr. Freddie Anderson Obituary

Mr. Freddie Lee Anderson was born in Eastover, SC on September 8, 1939, to the late James Sr. and Marie McLemore Anderson. He departed this earthly journey for eternal rest on the night of November 5, 2021, at Brian Center Nursing Care - St Andrews.

Freddie was educated in the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Webber High School in Eastover, SC.

Freddie learned tile setting from his father and began making a life for himself and his family as a Tile Man/Installer. He worked in construction as a master tile man for over 40 years and created his very own business called Anderson Tile. He taught his sons the tile trade and the work and creative talent of the Anderson men can be found in many businesses and homes across South Carolina and the Columbia area.

Freddie, affectionally known as Fred or Steve by his brothers and sister, was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, and uncle. He was a quiet but strong man with a hearty laugh, and until his health declined, he enjoyed laughing and joking with his family and friends at the family cookouts. He loved spending time with his grandson and great-grandson, and you would often find him sitting in his favorite chair, in his den watching television.  Freddie was loved and will be deeply missed by his family, Richcreek Road neighbors and the Byrneswood Community, whom he considered family as well.

In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Anderson, son, Mark Anthony Anderson, three brothers, Eddie, James (Ulice) and Major Anderson and one sister, Irene (Carl) Grooms.

Freddie leaves to cherish precious memories his son, Fredrick Leroy Anderson; step-children, Levi (Gloria) Kelly, Sherod (Iris) Jenkins, and Bernice (Ameen) Maqbool; grandson, Malik D. Anderson Sr. and great-grandson, Malik D. Anderson Jr.; sister-in-law, Alice Anderson; special neighbor/caretaker, Wanda Jones and a host of loving family and friends, whom he held near and dear to his heart that will all miss him.
