Mr. Frank Asmond, Jr. Obituary

Frank Asmond Jr. was born on March 22, 1950, in Columbia, South Carolina, to Frank Asmond
Sr. and Mattie Lou Asmond. He was educated in the public schools of Richland County,
graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in 1970. Throughout his life, Frank was
known for his love of basketball, music, and his pride in serving in the Army.
He was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and later became a dedicated member of Bride
Tabernacle of Jesus Christ, under the leadership of Pastor Henry Simmons. On February 27,
1982, Frank married the love of his life, Betty J. Asmond. Their union of 42 years was blessed
with one daughter. Brother Asmond took great joy in mentoring children and young adults, often
beaming with pride at their achievements.
Known for his humor and his talent for telling jokes, Frank could bring laughter and joy to any
gathering. He was a devoted Sunday School teacher who balanced a firm yet caring approach
that left a lasting impact on his students, many of whom carried his lessons into adulthood.
Frank Asmond Jr. was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Frank Asmond Sr. and Mattie Lou Asmond; his brothers,
Ernest Lee Asmond and Dickie Nathaniel Asmond; his sister, Mattie Mae Asmond Dixon; and
his godson, Joshua Demetrius Glover.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Betty Asmond; his loving daughter, Cierra
Asmond; his grandson, Carson Teagle; his sister, Georgia Mae Singleton; his brother, Peter
(Lois) Asmond; his sister-in-law, Thelma Asmond; his godson, Peter (Keosha) Asmond Jr.,
special grandchildren, Candace Dais, M’Kaylah Muldrow, Jay Miller Jr., Davius Muldrow J.r;
and a host of nieces, nephews, and other close family and friends.
Frank Asmond Jr. will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of faith,
humor, mentorship, and devotion to family and community will live on in the hearts of those he
touched.
