Eustacio John Martinez was the fifth of nine children born in Belize City, Central America on March 29, 1944, to the late Modesto and Rufina Martinez. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 18, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Eustacio attended Sacred Heart School as a child. He later worked at the Citrus Company of Belize. Eustacio migrated to New York in the early 1970s, spending most of his years in Brooklyn. He was employed at General Motors Part Company in New Jersey. After relocating to Columbia, South Carolina, Eustacio worked in the Parts Department of Love Chevrolet and Dick Smith.
Eustacio met the love of his life, Zenia and they married on June 28, 1973, in New York.
Eustacio was loved by many. Everyone who knew him loved to hear him speak. He was fluent in Spanish, Arawak, French, and English. He enjoyed playing soccer and fishing. He loved his friends and family, both near and far; especially his wife and his baby girl, Sabrena.
In addition to his parents, Eustacio was preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Witty, Ellorine Castillo, Helen Martinez, and Esther Martinez; and brothers, Theofilus Martinez and Victor Martinez.
Eustacio leaves to cherish his fond memories his loving and devoted wife, Zenia Martinez; two daughters, Sabrena Martinez and Esenie Martinez; three sons, Dexter (Johnette) Martinez, Henry Martinez and Ashford Martinez; three stepchildren, Trena (Ronnie) McRae, Elijah (Dianna) Glover, Ella Glover; twenty-nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Amelda (Edward) Diego, Patricia (Michael) Witty, and Milida Guiterez; one brother, Aster (Eva) Velasquez; two brothers-in-law, Willie (Edith) Hammond and Richard (Sally) Hammond; special nieces, Merline Flores and Eugenie Witty; special nephew, Ivan Martinez; god daughter, Salika Rivas; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. His unique personality and love for all will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
