Mr. Ervin Lee Thomas

Ervin Lee Thomas, Sr., affectionately known as “Brother”, was born on December 29, 1951, to Lula Mae Thomas in Thomson, Georgia. He departed this earthly life on Friday, August 12, 2022.

Ervin was educated in the McDuffie County Public Schools as well as the New York City Public Schools after relocating at a young age. After returning home to Thomson, Georgia, Ervin decided to settle in Columbia, South Carolina.

Ervin worked in skilled labor for many years. He worked in construction, as a nursing assistant, and also did various agency work. His favorite hobbies were watching sports, old westerns and visiting his hometown, Thomson, Georgia, which he affectionately referred to as “T” town.

Ervin was preceded in death by his mother, Lula Mae Thomas; brother, Eddie Thomas, aunt, Maryann “Mudda” Taylor and uncle, Jonas Taylor. and Uncle Maryann (Mudda) and Jonas “Daddy” Taylor.

Ervin leaves to cherish his memory his children, Che’Chay (Darren) Stewart of TX, Ervin (Stacey) Thomas of OH, and Truus Thomas of GA; sisters, Gladys Edwards and Connie Rowe both of Columbia, SC; honorary brother, Jerald (Juanita) Brown of GA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
