Edward Simon, affectionately known as “Bobby” was born on January 5, 1949, in Rembert, South Carolina to the late James Simon, Jr. and Charlotte Haynesworth Simon. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 1, 2021.
Edward attended the public schools of Sumter County. Following high school, he received his Commercial Driver's License and worked many years in the transportation industry. He was employed at Lane Hauling and Excavation, Inc. where he hauled asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
Edward married the love of his life Katina L. Darby on October 17, 2001. From this union, they had three children, Katrina Elease, Janey Charlottea, and Janea Charlotte. Recently, he celebrated twenty years of married bliss with his wife.
Edward enjoyed spending time with his family. His heart belonged to his girls. On Sundays, he could be found sitting in front of the television cheering on his beloved Carolina Panthers. He also loved the outdoors, gardening, and fishing. If he wasn’t catching it; he was growing it.
