Edward “Eddie” Jackson was born on July 28, 1938 to the late Theo and Glennie Jackson. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital.
Eddie received his early education in Kershaw County Schools in South Carolina. Eddie graduated from Mather Academy High School in Camden, South Carolina. Soon after graduating he relocated to New York.
Eddie was the owner and operator of East Third Street Amoco, located in Mount Vernon, New York.
Eddie had a passion for racing cars. Because of his passion for racing cars, he was affectionately known as “Skeeter”. Eddie could always be found at the tracks.
Eddie loved his family and friends dearly.
Eddie was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Jackson; four sisters, Brenda Hardrick, Esther Curtis, Ernestine Holland, and Cleo Bailey; two brothers-in-law, William Carter, Jr., and John Edward Carter.
To cherish his memory is his wife, Shirley Carter Jackson; a devoted sister, Maxine Jackson Riley; two daughters, Jeanine “Nikki” Greene, and Tara (Jay) Smith; one son, Edward “Lil Eddie” Jackson; seven grandchildren, Mecca Jackson, Jordan Greene, Syerra McGee, Zyair Seawright, Arabia Seawright, Jaylen Smith, and Jessica Smith; five great-grandchildren, Jermaine Jordan-Jackson, Jihanna Jordan-Jackson, Mecca Aspinall, Shawn Aspinall, and Taylen Milteer; one sister-in-law, Betty Carter Moore; three brothers-in-law, Andrew Carter, Harold Curtis, and Clarence Holland II; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
