Mr. Douglas E. Wallace

Douglas Eugene Wallace was born in Welch, West Virginia on May 21, 1954, and passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of May 28, 2024. Douglas was the second son of Newberry and Alberta Wooden Wallace. 

After graduating from Welch High School, he attended trade school for Welding in Newport News, Virginia. In 1980, he enlisted in the United States Army and retired in 2000. Douglas also retired from the United States Postal Service in 2014.

Douglas married Angie Mixson in 1981. While in the Army, they began to travel extensively throughout the United States and Europe. He served in ministry in various capacities within the Church of God in Christ in Italy and Germany. Upon their return to the United States in 1998, he continued serving within the Church of God in Christ in the South Carolina Jurisdiction.

Doug and Angie were blessed with two children, Travis (Amanda) and Trevette (Melvin) and three grandchildren, Aulauren, Chosen, and Chayce. Many family members, friends, and church members loved him dearly and will miss him immensely.
