Donald Henry Logan, Jr. was born on July 20, 1971 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of Donald and Hattie Logan, Sr. He is affectionately known as Jr. by family and friends. He departed his earthly life, after a brief illness, on September 9, 2019 at Prisma Health Hospital.
Donald was a 1989 graduate of W. J. Keenan High School. After high school, he attended Benedict College and later enlisted in the United States Army. Upon returning home he worked for SC Department of Juvenile Justice and for the US Postal Service as a Highway contractor. He also served a detail manager for Jim Hudson. Most recently, Donald was employed at Food Lion. Donald’s passion for cars allowed him to continue working as a master car detailer.
At an early age he was baptized at Second Calvary Baptist Church, where he was an active member. He served as a member of the Usher Board and with PUSH ministry. Donald’s favorite past times was attending Gamecock games. He could tell you the stats of every player on the USC Women’s Basketball Team.
Donald was known for his comical wit. He never met a stranger. He had a loving, caring, considerate, helpful, and entertaining spirit. He had uncanny loud way of getting his opinion across. He loved his daughters, family, church family and friends dearly.
Those left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Ny’Asia and Shania Logan of Columbia,SC, parents, Donald and Hattie Logan, Sr. of Columbia, SC; siblings, Phillip Logan of Columbia, SC and Margo Nicole (Cedric) Jackson of Columbia, SC; four nieces, Kyra, Kierra, and Kaitlyn Jackson of Columbia, SC, Tanijah Logan of Columbia, SC; one nephew, Chandler Jackson of Columbia, SC, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, all of whom will join the family in sharing the grief caused by his departure.
