David Wolfe, Jr., affectionately known as “Junior” and “Hack”, was born on April 1, 1944 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late David and Johnnie Mae Wolfe Sims. He made his earthly departure on October 1, 2019.
David was educated in the public schools of Richland County. He moved to Brooklyn, New York at the age of seventeen. There he became a welder working for a company that made and installed light fixtures. He was also a well-known Jive Time dancer.
David loved his family and offered wisdom to them all.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David and Johnnie Mae Sims; sisters, Daisy Mae Geiger, Marsha Jenkins and Barbara Peed; and brother, Richard Tucker.
David leaves to cherish his precious memory his brothers, Stanley (Chris) Sims and Robert (Mary) Myers; four sisters, Cynthia (Garland) Pretty of Columbia, SC, Connie Gaskins of Bishopville, SC, Stanzetta Johnson of Charlotte, NC, and Roberta McCoy-Sims Turner of Orlando, FL; four aunts, Julie Mae Brady of Louisville, KY, Mattie Bell Sutton, Tressie Hopkins, and Mary Jane Kinard, all of Columbia, SC; one brother-in-law, William Peed; two granddaughters, Marsha Sims-Dean and Destiny Dorsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
