Mr. David Smith, Jr.

David Smith, Jr. was born in Columbia, South Carolina on May 20, 1953 to loving parents, David and Rena C. Smith. He passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the age of 67 in a nursing facility In Charleston, South Carolina.

David's early education was with Richland County schools. He later received his high school diploma through the Job Corps. In his younger years, he loved to play basketball and could always be found playing ball at the park across from the house. He was a truck driver and laborer for many years. David loved life and he was a talker. He would keep you engaged in conversations as long as you would listen.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters, Ella S. Redd and Louvenia Smith; and his brother, Willie Smith.

David is survived by his three children, Sheila Green, Desmond Bell and Revathi Belle; three sisters, Mary Joyner, Margaret Sims, and Theresa Larkin; seven grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
