Dante James Reaves-Bey was born on October 18, 1962 to Mr. Walter and Dreana Reaves-Bey. Dante departed this earthly journey on Saturday, September 12, 2020.
He was a graduate of Susan E. Wagner High School and the School of Culinary Arts in New York. He was a man of many qualities. Dante was an Adult Drug Abuse Counselor (NY) and a bus driver for both Lexington/Richland 5 (SC) and Mecklenburg County (NC).
In 2017, Dante relocated with his wife to Columbia, South Carolina where he was an Officer of the SC Department of Corrections. He joined Brookland Baptist Church of West Columbia, under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Charles B. Jackson, Sr., and served as an active member on the usher board ministry.
Dante was a loving, kind-hearted person with a gentle spirit who dedicated his life to his wife and family.
Dante leaves to cherish his wife, Reverend Sandra Reaves-Bey; one daughter, Tiffany Reaves-Bey of Maryland; his father, Walter Reaves-Bey of New York; his mother, Dreana Reaves-Bey of Maryland; one sister, Kishma Reaves-Bey of Maryland; one stepson, Franchon Adams; one stepdaughter, Zandra (Wiseamon) Vaughn, special mother-in-law, Mrs. Laura Newton; one sister-in-law, Telissa Newton of Columbia, SC; one brother-in-law, Gus (Leta) Newton of Conyers, GA; two grandchildren, Elijah and Amanda Vaughn of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces and nephews.
