Mr. Daniel Webster Obituary

Danny Webster lived a life defined by honor, bravery, and an unwavering sense of humor. Known for his warm spirit and ability to connect with anyone, Danny truly never met a stranger. His quick wit and quirks earned him the affectionate nickname “Old Fart” at the age of 40—a name that brought smiles to generations. In fact, the youngest members of the family and friends earned a trip to the toy store once they were able to call him by it.

Danny followed in his family’s footsteps, serving his country with distinction. His military career took him around the globe—including Germany, Asia, Hawaii, Florida, and South Carolina. As an expert in nuclear engineering, Danny contributed to global safety by working to secure nuclear power facilities worldwide.

Born to Frank and Doris Webster, Danny’s life was one of dedication and love. In 1968, he married the love of his life, Barbara Ann, beginning a beautiful journey of love at first sight. Together, they welcomed Christina in 1969 and Robert in 1973. After retiring from the Army, Danny relocated his family to Columbia, South Carolina. As a military family, Danny and Barbara Ann understood the value of community. He and Barbara Ann created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the unmistakable feeling of belonging—a true haven for all who entered. Their door was always open, and over the years, their chosen family grew into a cherished and unforgettable ‘fambam,’ bound not by blood, but by love."

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Ann, his parents Frank and Doris, sisters Patricia and Kathleen, and his brother-in-law Dean Poston. He is survived by his daughter Christina, his son Robert and daughter-in-law Diana, granddaughter(s) Laurel Webster and Amber Nichole, his sister-in-law Debra Poston(The Favorite), brothers Mike, Terry (Becky), Tim, and Shaun Buckshot(Dawn), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a vast extended family.

Danny’s legacy lives on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared so freely. All are welcome to visit the family home to share memories and celebrate his life. A private service will be held at a later date.
