Cecil Fogle was born on March 8, 1945 in Elloree, South Carolina to the late Mannie and Anna V. Davis Fogle. He passed away peacefully at his home on September 21, 2020.
Cecil was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County. He graduated from Elloree Training School. He enlisted in the United States Army. Cecil started his work career at Allied Chemical in Columbia, South Carolina and later went into business with his brothers forming “Fogle Sanitation Service” for many years.
He was united in marriage to Gladys A. Fogle for forty-nine years. This union was blessed with three loving daughters and two foster daughters. Cecil dedicated his life to his family, friends, and work. He was an avid fisherman. He loved to entertain with fish fry’s, pool parties, cookouts, and family trips. He also had a love of card playing and casino trips with his friends.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Mannie and Anna V. Davis Fogle; foster daughter, Alvina L. Tate; brothers, Mannie and Sammie Fogle; sister, Thelma Profit; sisters-in-law, Mazie Fogle, Elizabeth Fogle, and Charlie Bell McClain; brothers-in-law, Raymond Smith, Lewis Watts, John Henry Rivers, Eugene Allen, and Vance Boyd.
Cecil is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Fogle; three daughters, Sharon Fogle, Keisha Fogle, and Cecelia (Maurice) Hall all of Columbia, SC; foster daughter, Ashley Pelzer; grandchildren, Christopher D. Herrin, Isaiah M. Hall, and Ian M. Hall; siblings, Rose Rivers, Roosevelt Fogle, Eartha (Albert) Barrow, Bertha Watts, Jessie Watson, Jeremiah (Debra) Fogle, Elease Smith; sisters-in-law, Betty (Leroy) Smith, Brenda Allen, Joyce Allen, Barbara Boyd, all of Columbia, SC; brother-in-law, Sammy J.(Oneida) Allen of Columbia, SC; special friends, Willie Wright, Willie Moton, and the late Johnny Rump; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
