Mr. Calvin Wright, Sr.

Calvin Wright, Sr., affectionately known as “Big Red”, was born on October 22, 1951 in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Willie, Sr. and Minnie R. Wright. He departed this earthly life on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the age of 67.

Calvin was educated in the public schools of Columbia, South Carolina. He worked with his father at Acme Distributors. He furthered his career at Hardwick Chemicals, where he later retired. He also worked for Happy Daddy Towing for several years.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Willie, Sr. and Minnie R. Wright; sister, Brenda Gather; brother, Roger Wright; nephew, Travis S. Wright; and niece, Brittany C. Cooper.

Calvin leaves to cherish his precious memory is his son, Calvin (Antoinette) Wright, Jr.; daughter, Lavetta J. Wright; two brothers, Willie Wright, Jr. and Lonnie Wright, both of Columbia, SC; four sisters, Dorothy Dougherty Chaplin, of Douglasville, GA, Pamela Marie Brown, Natasha (Walter) Suber and Sandra Myers, all of Columbia, SC; two grandsons, Malik Marshall and Kyair Bowman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and caring friends, all of whom will miss him dearly
