Mr. Aurelio Robinson Obituary

Aurelio Robinson was born on December 5, 1952, in Colon, Panama to the late Clarence Robinson and Lina Davey. He passed away peacefully on November 12, 2021, in Columbia, South Carolina where he was a longtime resident.

Aurelio spent his early years in Panama and immigrated to Brooklyn, New York with his brother in August of 1961 and they were later joined by their younger sister. He grew up surrounded by close family and friends. Aurelio graduated from Bishop Loughlin High School and latter attended the College of Staten Island. It was there he met and married his first wife, Joyce Robinson, and they were blessed with two children.

Aurelio was a veteran of the US Navy after proudly serving his country for ten years. While in the military, he met and married Karen and they were blessed with a beautiful son in 1987.

Aurelio was a Jack of All Trades and his two professional passions were medicine and cooking. Early in his career he worked as a physical therapist at Willowbrook Hospital. His passion for cooking led him to attend and graduate from culinary school in the 1990s.  One of his most recent positions before retiring was chef at Fort Jackson’s NCO Club. Aurelio was also an avid music lover with an extensive record and CD collection that spanned from R&B to Rock ‘N Roll. He enjoyed watching movies and TV as well.

Aurelio leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of nine years, Patricia Robinson; two sons, Stephen Robinson of Utica, NY and Aurelio Robinson, Jr. of Round Rock, TX; daughter, Jasmine Asare of New Rochelle, NY; step-daughter, Sarah People of Columbia, SC; three beloved grandchildren, Emmanuel Asare, Christian Asare and Israel Robinson; one brother, Clarence Robinson of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Paige Robinson of Round Rock, TX and Karen (Ubert) Batista of Panama; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
