Andrew Anderson, Sr., affectionately known as “Mr. Monkey”, was born on May 10, 1955 to the
late Bishop Tommy Anderson, Sr. and Nancy W. Anderson in Columbia, South Carolina. He
went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
Andrew was baptized at Mt. Sinai Church where he attended from childhood.
Andrew was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a proud graduate of Eau
Claire High School, Class of 1977. He was later employed with Niggles Associates as a title
mechanic for over 25 years. He also worked at Anderson Interior Design and Tile with his
brother, Paul.
Andrew enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, wrestling, Nascar, and football. He was a die-hard Dallas
Cowyboys fan, and he was known for making others laugh with his jokes.
In addition to his parents, Andrew was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen, Tommy, Jr.,
Nathaniel, Leroy, Arthur, Matthew, and Joseph.
Andrew leaves to cherish his precious memories his son, Andrew Anderson, Jr. of Columbia,
SC; daughter, Crystal (Gregory) Saulters of Kingstree, SC; one sister, Mary L. Carter; three
brothers, Isaiah Anderson, Paul (Carol) Anderson, and Aaron (Carolyn) Anderson all of
Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
