Amil Jeffery Carter, affectionately known as "Jeff", was born on May 11, 1957 to Julia Lee Carter and the late Jerome Carter. He departed his earthly home on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
Jeff was educated in the public schools of Richland County. He was employed at McGrady Air Force Base until his health begin to fail.
Jeff dedicated his life to his family and community. He loved helping others. If you didn't want it, Jeff would haul it. Jeff was baptized at Second Nazareth Baptist as a small child and as an adult he became a member of Grace Church Ministers under the leadership of Bishop Reginald Steele.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Jerome Carter; brother, Rodney Carter; grandmother, Esther Thompson; and nephew, Brandon Carter.
Jeff leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of 35 years, Carmen “Retta” Carter; loving mother, Julia Lee Carter; one brother, Eric Carter; one sister, Arrie “Yvonne” Carter; one son, Brandon Brown; six step-children, Troy, Todara, Tiasha, and Tecola Belton, Tynesha “Grandma” Pagan and Bernard Tucker; grandchildren, Talia “Princess” Spigner, Taniyah “Scoota Boop” Loyde, Teasia(Cupcake) Belton, Traevon Caughman, Troy J. Belton, Todara K. Belton, Tyon D. Robinson, Tyriq Belton, Taukedrick King, and Keyon Brooks; one aunt, Claudia (Arthur) Price; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
