Mr. Albert Lemmie Johnson

Albert Johnson was born January 3, 1946, in West Columbia, Lexington County, South Carolina.  He was the son of the late Lemmie and Annie Pearl Johnson.  Albert departed this life for his heavenly reward on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center of West Columbia.  In addition to his parents, his sister Peggy Lee Johnson, also precede him in death.

Albert was educated at the historical Lakeview Elementary and High School of West Columbia. Albert attended the Brookland Baptist Church located on Monticello Street in West Columbia. There he was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior.

Albert retired after many years of being a Tile Setter, where he was an entrepreneur and loved his job. Albert laid tile in many homes and businesses across South Carolina, including the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. If you had the opportunity to ride around with him, he could point to many places on the east coast that he had the opportunity to lay tile. He was extremely proud of his work.

In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Johnson.

Albert leaves to cherish his memory his loving companion of thirty plus years, Sandra Brown; his daughters, Sheila Johnson of Columbia, SC, LaVette Reaves (Gene) nd Shirley Johnson-Jabbil (Omar) both of Everette, WA, Falicia Johnson of Savannah GA, and Carla Greene of Columbia, SC; one son, Albert Johnson (Natasha) Elgin, SC; loving siblings, Geneva Johnson of West Columbia, SC, Betty Johnson of Columbia, SC, Fannie Jones of Columbia, SC, Lorraine Brown (Delbert) of Clarksville, TN, Richard Johnson (Maxine) and William Johnson (Cindy) both of Lexington, SC; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews that loved him dearly among the many friends that he enjoyed meeting and sharing breakfast at his favorite breakfast spots.
