Minister Tera Nikonya Davis-Adams was born on Thursday, March 1, 1973 to Anthony and Margaret O’Neil-Davis. She transitioned to meet her Heavenly Father on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022.
Tera was educated in the public school system of Richland County School District One where she graduated from W. J.Keenan High School, Class of 1992. While at Keenan she was a proud member of the marching band as a “Raidarette”. Upon graduation, she matriculated to Morris College, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Tera later attended Webster University and received a Master’s Degree in Business in 2022. She also studied Leadership at Columbia College. Tera was employed at Pure Fishing, Inc. of Columbia, South Carolina and volunteered for Richland County School District Two at North Springs Elementary and Killian Elementary Schools. She also served in the United States Navy.
Tera confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at Zion Canaan Baptist Church where she actively served until she was called Home. She was the great-great-granddaughter of the church’s founders, Frank and Phyllis Lawhorn Anderson. While Tera struggled with her health for many years, she remained actively involved in her church. She was a member of her church’s Sunday School, Youth Advisor, Youth Praise Dance Team Coordinator, member of the Women’s Praise Dance Team, Youth and Senior Musical Choir, Ministerial Staff, and Young Women’s Auxiliary (YWA) of the Gethsemane State E & M Baptist Convention. (Morris College) and the Upsilon Omega Omega Chapter of Irmo, South Carolina, where she faithfully served as Historian. Tera was the founder and CEO of both “Hands Up Against Lupus”, an advocate group for Lupus sufferers, and The Logynn and Isabella Dolls Ministry for Hospitalized Children.
Tera went on by faith, to become a women's empowerment speaker, facilitator, author, and mentor. As a mentor, she encouraged women to renew their minds and turn the pages to the next chapter of their lives. Tera also wrote the book, The Story Behind My Praise. She enjoyed spending time with her family and keeping up with the latest trends. Tera’s motto was, “You can’t enjoy the future until you let go of the past.”
