I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store
for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that
day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:7
Evangelist Priscilla Dianne Holmes (MSG Ret.), 53, was born on April 16, 1972, in Atlanta, Texas, to
the late Nathan E. Holmes and Velma Marie Holmes. She entered eternal rest on April 1, 2026,
in Columbia, South Carolina.
A woman of strength, discipline, and unwavering commitment, MSG Holmes honorably served
her country for over 22 years in the United States Army. Throughout her distinguished military
career, she completed extensive and advanced training, including the Advanced Leaders Course,
Battle Staff Course, Drill Sergeant School, First Sergeants Course, and numerous other
specialized programs. Her service included deployment to Afghanistan and assignments across
the globe.
Her excellence was reflected in the many honors she received, including multiple awards of the
Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and
numerous campaign and service medals. She also earned a bachelor’s degree, further
demonstrating her dedication to personal and professional growth.
Among her many notable assignments, one of the most prestigious was her service with the
White House Communications Agency (WACA), where she supported operations with direct
access to President Bill Clinton.
Beyond her military accomplishments, Evangelist Holmes was a devoted servant of God and a
pillar within her church and community. She faithfully served in numerous capacities, including
as a Bible Study teacher, Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School instructor, and a
member of the Young Women’s Christian Council. Her passion for worship and intercession was
evident through her involvement in the choir, praise team, and intercessory prayer ministry.
A woman richly gifted in faith, she was twice crowned winner of the South Carolina
Ecclesiastical Jurisdictional Bible Portrayal, representing the Department of Women with
excellence. Her ministry extended internationally through her work with the Journey to
Compassion Missions Team, serving in Honduras, Puerto Rico, Kenya, Ghana, and France.
Through her missions’ work, she touched countless lives with compassion, humility, and the love
of Christ.
Her life embodied the words of Scripture found in “To everything there is a season, and a time
to every purpose under the heaven…” — Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 — a reminder of God’s divine
timing and purpose in all things.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her beloved parents. She leaves to cherish her precious
memories her daughter, Brittany Nicoa Jones; her brother, Marcus Holmes; her aunts, Verdall
Nelson and Rosemary Love; and a host of other loving family members, church family, and dear
friends.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her legacy of love, leadership, and service will forever
remain in the hearts her family, Ecclesia, and of all who knew her.
