Elder Annie Mae Washington Robinson, 73, (affectionally known as Sister) daughter of the late Willie Lee Washington, Sr. and Francina Gilmore Washington was born February 23rd, 1948 in Eastover, South Carolina. She entered into earthly rest on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at Prisma Baptist Medical Center surrounded by her children.
Elder Robinson received her education within the public schools of the Richland County District obtaining her GED from Richland Northeast in 1987. She retired from Midland Center after serving over 20 years.
In 1971, Elder Robinson was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the gift of the holy ghost under the leadership of the late Overseer Johnny A. Draft, Sr., Elder Lillie B. Draft, and Bishop Cleo Johnson.
Elder Robinson was a faithful and honorary member of the Apostolic Church of Christ, Inc. of Columbia, SC all of her life. She wore many hats while serving. She was ordained Elder on August 8th, 2015 and elected on the National Executive Board in that same year, Church Mother, original Joyful Singer member, and Sunday School teacher just to name a few. She was faithful in all of her duties; her life was a true example of Godly living. Elder Robinson was a very humble and loving woman of God. She loved God, church, and her family faithfully and unconditionally.
Annie was married to the late James A. Robinson Sr. on September 3rd, 1965. She absolutely loved spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Her presence will be greatly missed!
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Elder Ella Louise Johnson, brothers: Samuel Lee and Willie Lee Washington, Jr., grandsons: Deacon DonAdrian E. Robinson, Christopher Lamar Robinson, and Kenneth B. Thompson, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her children: Bishop Bruce (Elder Sandra) Robinson, Sr. of Columbia, SC, James A. (Yvonne) Robinson, Jr. of Mooresville, NC, daughters: Missionary Sylvia Robinson, LaSonya Robinson and teacher, Francina (James) Heyward all of Columbia, SC, 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Linda Washington of Columbia, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and three spiritual sons, Pastor Wade H. Brown, Jr. of Huntersville, NC, Elder Lawrence Whiteside of Columbia, SC, and Elder Barrington Pierson of Sumter, SC.
