Deacon Reginald Allen Harris was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Deacon Harris began this life’s journey on August 21, 1965, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the son of Mr. Robert Harris Jr. and Ms. Dorothy Etheridge Harris. He peacefully transitioned to be with his heavenly father in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 16, 2020. Deacon Harris was educated in the public schools of Richland County School District One and graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1984. He enjoyed preparing food and took pride in his family operated catering company, Royal Catering. He was employed by Sutton’s Barbershop, the Pepsi Bottling Group for over 20 years and was most recently employed by Eastminister Presbyterian Church.
He confessed Christ as his personal savior and was a dedicated member of New Life Ministries (Swansea, SC). Under Bishop Cardell Sutton, he was ordained as a Deacon and remained true to his calling until his health failed. His faith and trust in God guided his life and allowed for him to be an example for his family, friends, and all who came in contact with him.
Deacon Harris loved to love on people. He was universally known for his since of humor and wit. He brought joy and laughter to many.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Robert Harris Jr.; his maternal grandparents Mr. Colie Etheridge Sr. and Mrs. Ethel Etheridge; his paternal grandfather, Mr. Robert Harris Sr.; two uncles Mr. Colie Etheridge Jr. and Mr. James Etheridge; and one Aunt, Ms. Melvina Etheridge Miller.
His love, legacy, memory and inspiration will forever be engraved in the hearts of his devoted wife of thirty-one (31) years, Mrs. Jacqueline Guider Harris of Irmo, South Carolina and two sons Mr. Caleb Harris and Mr. Michael Harris both of Irmo, South Carolina; His loving mother Ms. Dorothy Etheridge Harris of Columbia, South Carolina; His Paternal Grandmother, Ms. Rosetta Moses of Jamaica, New York; one sister Ms. Lisa Harris Sease of Columbia, South Carolina; uncles, Mr. Paul (Dianne) Etheridge of West Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Charles (Bernice) Etheridge , Mr. Eddie (Dorothy) Etheridge, Reverend Willie (Ernestine) Ellis Jr. and Mr. Stanley Barber all of Columbia, South Carolina; Aunts, Minister Viola Etheridge, Ms. Valerie R. Etheridge, Ms. Elnora Ellis Mack and Mrs. Doretta (Jimmy) Williams all of Columbia, South Carolina; three Sister-in-laws, Mrs. Pamela (Efrem) Guider Jennings of Irmo, South Carolina, Mrs. Stephanie (Eugene) Young-Beamus and Ms. Jameka D. Young both of Columbia, South Carolina; and a Brother-In-Law Mr. Gordon Young of Hopkins, South Carolina. His earthly presence will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, community members and friends.
