Reverend Wayne Reginald Hinson was born on March 15, 1957, in Stanley, North Carolina to the late Thomas Hinson and Margaret Hinson Young. On February 27, 2018, in Columbia, South Carolina Reverend Hinson transitioned from his earthly journey to his heavenly home.
Reverend Hinson was the leader of the Mt. Zion’s Missionary Baptist Church Men’s Ministry of Cayce, South Carolina, Sunday School Teacher, South Carolina Prison Ministry, and Vacation Bible School. He reorganized the Mt. Zion MBC Mighty Men’s Choir and served as president, choir director, and lead singer. Reverend Hinson faithfully did whatever he was asked to do for Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Reverend Hinson was preceded in death by one daughter, Kristie Johnson; sisters, Valerie Hinson and Doris Butler; and one brother, Frankie Hinson.
Reverend Hinson leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Pam Hinson; one son, Jamaal Hinson; one daughter, Asheley Hinson; two granddaughters, Za’Niyah Hinson-Weeks and Zaria Johnson; one grandson, Eiyan Johnson; two brothers, Henry (Bonnie) Hinson, Marvin (Francine) Young; five sisters, Burnice Hinson (Joe Palmer), Margaret Young, Helen (Forrest) Davis, Jane Hinson, and Dolly Hinson; mother-in-law, Evelyn C. Washington; two sisters-in-law, Gail Rabaza and Carolyn Martin; two brothers-in-law, Charles V. Washington, Jr., (Chuanpis) and Rev. Roger Butler; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family relatives and friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
