My beloved cuzzo, Curtis. You were one of a kind. We go way back to the Hyatt Park days when we lived in Latimor Manor and you, your mom Brenda and brother John, lived across the street from HP. Your mom would hold up traffic to make sure we crossed the street, safe and sound. You would walk us home from HP even though you lived right across the street from the school. You protected us from bullies and made sure we made it home safe. Some of the kids even thought you and I were brother and sister, lol.
I'm so glad God saw fit for us to reconnect when I moved back to SC. Every time we saw each other, you always had encouraging words to share and ended with your handsome and infectious SMILE. You sat on the Bush-Mitchell Family Reunion Committee with us and assisted in many ways. You were a GOD FEARING & FAMILY MAN. A DEDICATED husband to your beautiful wife Chavise and a DEVOTED father to your Beanie, Lauren. Words can't explain the admiration I had for you as a son, brother, cousin, friend, husband, and father. I pray that God continues to bring peace and comfort to those close to you. Our hearts are deeply sadden by the sudden by departure of my beloved nephew, Rev. Curtis C. Bush. I will always remember Curtis' deep hunger and thirst for God and his desire to grow in the knowledge of the things of the Spirit. Curtis took God seriously. From his youth until his death, he sought the will of God for his life and ministry. Therefore, I find a great deal of comfort in remembering that the Lord Christ declared, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled." Therefore I am satisfied that the very God that Curtis so eagerly sought was indeed present with Curtis when he transitioned into eternity. Let us take comfort, my family, in knowing that our beloved Curtis is now in the presence of the great "I AM." What a delightful joy that must be for him!
