Ms. Willie Mae Williams

Mary Elizabeth Mickle, also known as Willie Mae Williams, was born on January 8, 1943 in Elgin, South Carolina. She departed this life on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Willie Mae, affectionately known as “Skeet”, was baptized at an early age and joined Good Aim Missionary Baptist Church in Elgin, South Carolina. She was educated in Kershaw County and graduated from Jackson High School in Camden, South Carolina. After graduating she left Elgin and made Columbia her home. She worked a variety of jobs and eventually retired.

“Skeet” was preceded in death by her biological mother, Isabell Walker; her adopted parents, Arthur and Mamie Williams; grandparents, John and Lizzie Williams; daughter, Jacquelyn “Jackie” McCoy; and a dear friend, Eddie Williams.

She leaves to mourn her passing a son, John F. Williams of Columbia, SC; one aunt, Ernestine Williams of Blythewood, SC; and a host of loving cousins, relatives and friends.
