Ms. Monica Denise James

Monica Denise James, affectionately known as “Neise,” was born on May 30, 1963 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Ernest and Daisy Sweat James.  On Saturday, July 14, 2018, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly journey to her heavenly home.

Monica was educated in the public schools of Richland County and attended A.C. Flora High School.

Monica was employed at Piggly Wiggly as a cook. She was also the softball coach for Hendly Homes team and a proud grandmother.

Monica dedicated her life to her family, loved ones, and community. To know her was to love her.

In addition to her parents, Monica was preceded in death by her two brothers, Larry James and Ernest James, Jr.

Monica leaves to cherish her fond memories are her two children, Brenda (Jamal) McCallum and Maurice (Tashila Kemp) James; four sisters, Deborah James, Katrina Livingston, Deloris James and Sheila James; one brother, Bobby James; two grandchildren, Rocki and Marley; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
