Ms. Mary E. West

Mary Esther West was born on March 16, 1958 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Willie West and Catherine Laury West.  On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly journey to her heavenly home.

Mary was educated in the public schools of Richland County.

Mary dedicated her life to her family and friends. She enjoyed helping anyone that crossed her path.  Mary loved cooking and entertaining.  She also loved singing and attending church.

Mary retired early as a private housekeeper and following retirement became a caregiver.  She dedicated herself to serving in this capacity until she lost her battle with cancer.  Mary was truly a blessing from God. To know her was to love her.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Catherine West; sister, Deborah Brown; and granddaughter, Zyria West.

Those left to cherish her fond memories is her daughter, Nicky (Victor) West; three sons, Chico West, Nechaun West, and Mario West; four sisters, Linda West, Naomi Rayson, Lydia Williams, and Sarah Rivers; fifteen grandchildren whom she loved dearly; one brother in law, Daniel Rivers Sr.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
