Ms. Kim Laverne Arthur Brown

March 30, 1957 ~ October 30, 2018 (age 61) 61 Years Old

Kim L. Arthur-Brown was born on March 30, 1957 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Frances Arthur King and John Henry Johnson. She departed this earthly journey on October 30, 2018 at Providence Hospital.

Kim was educated in the public schools of Richland County and was a graduate of Spring Valley High School Class of 1974. She furthered her education at Benedict College graduating in 1978. She later attended Strayer University earning a master degree in 2010.

Kim was employed by Midlands Center, Price Water House, Accu-Trul Tax Services, Rogers, Townsend & Thomas, and PC. She was also self-employed as a certified accountant and owner of Arthurized Service, LLC.

At an early age, Kim joined New Free Hope Independent Church in Blythewood, South Carolina where she served in several capacities. She served as a trustee, recording secretary, and a member of the mass choir. She also served on the event staff and finance committees. Kim developed the church’s first website and faithfully served her current positions until death.

Kim was full of love, and had a kind gentle spirit. She enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with her friends. She loved her family, church family, friends and classmates. Most importantly, she loved the Lord Jesus Christ in whose loving arms she is now peaceably resting.

In addition to her parents, Kim was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Frank and Ophelia Arthur.

Kim leaves to cherish her precious memory a special nephew she helped raised, DeWitt King of Madison, WI; one sister, Anita King of Stone Mountain, GA; three aunts, Dorothy Bowers, Carolyn Roberson, and Martha (Rudolph) Chavis; one uncle, Douglas (Bobbie) Arthur all of Blythewood, SC; one great-aunt, Martha Cunningham of Columbia, SC; one niece, Skylar King; one nephew, D'Shea Jennings; and host of loving relatives and friends.
