My son Carson attended NECDC from 8 months until he was 4 years old. He took his first steps and said his first word with her. Ms. Smith, I will forever pay homage to you for help laying a strong educational foundation for my son. He learned so much from you and so did I! From gospel songs, arts & crafts, and even black history month. You played a vital role in everyone's life and you took pride in everything you did with your babies. You loved them and they loved you so much in return! It takes a special person like yourself to help model, guide, and educate our sweet little children. We will miss you so much! My heart is so heavy but I have memories that I will forever cherish!

I come with great sadness in my heart. Because I got to know Mrs. Smith because she was my son's Child Development Director at New Ebenezer Baptist CDC. She took proud in her babies and was very protective of her babies. They were very protective of her as well. She love teaching them songs, arts and crafts, help them make books, cook them great meals, help them write recipes, and showed them love. She would always refer to me (Mom) as mother's cat. Because I would come into the CDC with Mason and I would wipe his mouth or fix his clothes. She would say why are you acting like a mother's cat and always licking on their kittens. She will be truly miss but I know she is resting now. We love you and we will miss your affectionate smile.
