Dianne Brooks was born November 22, 1950 in Senoia, Georgia to the late Curtis McFarley and Daisy Mae Brooks. She was one of seven children. Dianne departed from this earthly journey on Thursday, November 1, 2018, in Columbia, South Carolina in the presence of her family.
Dianne received Christ at an early age and attended The Move of God Church. She graduated from Washington High School in Atlanta, Georgia in 1968 and continued on to the Grady Hospital School of Nursing. Dianne would work as a pediatric nurse at Grady Memorial Hospital and DeKalb General for several years. While at Grady, Dianne met and married the late John L. Bozeman. From this union they would have three children: Carla, John Jr., and Jeffrey.
In 1981, Dianne began a career at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) at Fort Gillem. AAFES would move her to Newport News, Virginia in 1987 where she was an integral part in the opening of Dan Daniels Distribution Center. Dianne dedicated over thirty-two years of loyal service to AAFES before retiring in 2013. She enjoyed retirement in her home in Newport News until she became ill.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Dianne is preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Brooks; and son-in-law, Reginald Walters.
Dianne leaves to cherish her memories her three children, Carla Walters, John (Chela) L. Bozeman, Jr., and Jeffrey Bozeman; five siblings, Louise Favors, John (Helen) Brooks, Gwendolyn Brooks, William (Betty) Brooks, and Oscar Brooks; eight grandchildren Amber, Brandon, Katrece, Jaylynn, Jai, Malachi, Ja’chi, and O’riyan; two great-grandchildren, Benjerman and Simonne; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
