Mrs. Mary Jane Wynn Mitchell

Mary Jane Wynn Mitchell was born on September 14, 1949 in Talladega County, Alabama to the late Early Wynn and Jessie Mae Jemison Wynn. At the age of two years old, her guardianship was acquired by the late Artie Lee Wynn and Alberta Jemison Wynn.

At an early age, she confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, uniting with Sweet Home Baptist Church in Silver Run, Alabama. Later in life, she attended Foundation Baptist Church.

Mary Jane was united in Holy bonds of Matrimony to Reginald L. Mitchell on October 15, 1976. This union was blessed with four daughters.

Mary Jane was a very enterprising lady. She was a babysitter for many years where she loved and cared for the kids as her very own. She also worked for the CATO Corporation for several years. Mary Jane loved to cook, bake, play cards, and play bingo. She was also an awesome seamstress. She always made visitors feel welcome in her home

Mary Jane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Though she is no longer physically with us, her loving and kind spirit will live in the hearts and lives of all who loved and knew her.

She departed this earthly journey on November 1, 2018 at the age of 69. God in his special way, at a perfect time, picked from our midst this sweet and caring soul and added her to his heavenly garden where her spirit will bloom forever.

In addition to her parents and her guardian, Mr. Artie Lee Wynn, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her grandson, Kristian M. Perry.

Mary Jane leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband, Reginald L. Mitchell; two daughters, Erica (Danny) Carr and Talisa (Zebulon) Scott; two step-daughters, Latasha Mitchell and Jackie Williams; a special mother, Alberta Jemison Wynn; six sisters, Earlie (Herman)  Douthard, Helen Wynn, Gwendolyn (Eddie) McEwen, Vanessa (Charles) Chatman, Priscilla (Darryl) Hammonds, and Towanda (Jay) Foster; one brother, Harvey Lee Wynn; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and host of loving relatives and friends.
