Wash Stocker, Jr. was born on August 10, 1941 in Hopkins, South Carolina to the late Wash and Laura Frierson Stocker, Sr. He departed this earthly journey at Providence Hospital on Thursday, January 24, 2019.
Wash was educated in the public schools of Richland County and attended Hopkins High School.
At an early age, Wash was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in Hopkins, South Carolina. Later, he joined Jerusalem Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his death. He was the Head Chef over the Kitchen Ministry, served on the Senior and Men’s Choirs, and volunteered his time helping others.
Wash worked many years as a chef for S & S Cafeteria, Cribs Bakery, Forest Hill Nursing Home and Benedict College.
Wash dedicated his life to his family, loved ones, and community. He loved and cared for his dogs, Snowball and Spot. He also enjoyed watching western movies and was an avid Gamecock fan. To know Wash was to love him.
Wash was preceded in death by his parents, Wash Stocker, Sr. and Laura Frierson Stocker; brother, Theodore Stocker; and his former wife, Loretta Suber-Stocker.
Wash leaves to cherish his precious memory to his son, Torre (Triconya “Tika”) Stocker; daughter, Tiffany Stocker, all of Columbia, SC; one sister, Ernestine Stocker; one brother, Willie (Dale) Stocker all of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Angel Jacobs, Quintina Stocker, and Torian Stocker all of Columbia, SC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
