Tyrone Aloysius Branch was born on November 1, 1968 in Greenville, South Carolina to Steve Branch and the late Shirley Ann Branch. He departed this earthly life on February 15, 2019, at the age of 50.
At an early age, Tyrone was baptized at Springfield Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
Tyrone attended South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind and graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1988.
While in school, Tyrone participated in several events including: The World Games for the deaf in Los Angeles, California, and International Games for the disabled in Long Island, New York. He also participated in The National Blind Sports Championship at St. Louis University where he won 5 medals in track and a silver medal in junior wrestling. In April 1985, Tyrone broke the one-mile school record with a time of 4:40, eclipsing the record of 4:44. Four days later he bettered his own mark with an amazing time of 4:33. In 1987, he participated in the Cross State Relay with seven other runners. They ran 211 miles across South Carolina with Tyrone having the best average time.
Tyrone loved his family, friends, his dog Gibbs, and especially his sister, Missy.
In addition to his mother, Tyrone was preceded in death by his grandmother, Josephine Davis; his aunt, Julia Griggs; and his uncle, James Davis.
Tyrone leaves to cherish his precious memory to his father, Steve Branch of Greenville, South Carolina; his sister, Melissa “Missy” Branch both of Greenville, SC; one brother, Steven Branch of Daytona Beach, FL; grandmother, Gracie Larry of Douglas, GA; four cousins, Earl (Tersara) Griggs, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL, Charrisa (James) Griggs-Slappy of Daytona Beach, FL, Jimmy (Tammy) Davis and LaShun McDonald both of Greenville, SC; longtime girlfriend, Mary McNeil of Columbia, SC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
