Randy Lee McCoy was born on December 25, 1962 in Columbia, South Carolina and departed this life on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.
Randy was employed for many years with Snelling where his coworkers labeled him a "Jack of all trades." Throughout the years, he developed the craft of being an artist. He would practice this craft until perfection. During his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, drawing and embracing nature. It was often stated that he could find pleasure in the little things. He was known to be a quiet man. Throughout his life, he embraced his journey with acceptance and understanding that trouble would not last always.
Though his encounters with many will be remembered various ways, he was a loving and embracing man. He spoke highly of his children and the idea of true love.
Randy was preceded in death by his loving father, Jack McCoy, Jr. and beloved sister, Jacklyn McCoy.
Randy leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Delores McCoy; five children, Randy (Shironda) McCoy-Baker, Tiansa Baker, Brian Dixon, Jomeka Taylor, and Joshua Taylor; two grandchildren, Joshlynn Taylor and JaShaun Dixon; two brothers, Derrick Jones and Kirk McCoy; three sisters, Linda McCoy, Mechell (Lendrick) Pegross, and Regina (Kenneth Pittman) Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members.
In Randy’s last writing he wrote, "This time I will get it right. This time I will not fail. I will try. I never knew love until I woke up this morning and God said it was not over. I am not perfect and may never be but I will try.”
