Mr. Michael Leon Gadsden

Michael Leon Gadsden was born May 16, 1953 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Edward and Earline G. Burrell. He departed this earthly journey on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the age of sixty-five at The Heartland of Columbia.

Michael was educated in the public schools of Richland County District 1 and was a graduate of Eau Claire High School class of 1972.

At an early age Michael was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church College Place. He was employed at Hanson Brick until he became disabled in 2005.

Michael dedicated his life to his family, loved ones, and community. He loved to build motors and race cars. Michael also loved to cut and sell wood.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Burrell.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty-three years, Thelma D. Gadsden; one daughter, Giwana (Antwion) Gadsden; two sons, Brandon Gadsden and Marco Gadsden; fourteen grandchildren, KaNayiah, Kordai, De’Ahjia, Amarri, Antwion Jr., Brian, Brandon, DeJuan, GeJuan, Janson, Brianna, Maurice, Chevron, and DeMarkus; two sisters, Mamie Burrell and Andrena (Trent) Barr; four sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
