Mr. James "Rex" Reed

Mr. James Dreher Reed was born on February 14, 1939 in Gaston, South Carolina.  He was adopted at a very early age by the late Nettie and Henry Reed. He departed this earthly journey on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

James graduated with honors from Lakeview High School in 1958. He then furthered his education by pursuing a degree in Business Administration.

In 1966, James started working at West Columbia Processing Plant, where he remained a loyal and dedicated employee for fifty-three years. During this time, he also met and married his wife and best friend, Mrs. Patricia Glover Reed.

James was a very loving, meek, humble and dedicated family man and father. To know him was to love him.

James leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Patricia Glover Reed; five daughters, Carolyn (Amanullah) Williams, Donna R. (Randy) Donald, Cynthia (William) Hollis, Jutta (Art) Edwards and Tonya (Nick) Evans; one son, Reemi (Crystal) Reed; one step daughter, Linda Glover; two god daughters, Erica Fredrick and Dalhia Boyd; one step son, Antonio Glover; four sisters, Edna (Richard) Boyd, Ann Royles, Vergie Johnson and Bernice Koger; two brothers, Eugene Johnson and James Johnson; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Whaley, Gracie Fredrick and Reverend Maria Ross; four brothers-in-law, Eugene (Geraldine) Glover, Walter (Mary) Glover, Raymond Boyd and Willie Dell Boyd; two granddaughters; nine grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and a host of loving cousins, other relatives, and special friends.
