Mr. James Ray

Mr. James Ray was born on June 5, 1952 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Benjamin and Leola Ray.  He departed this life on October 8, 2018.  He was educated in the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.

James was married to the former Mary Kay Praylow. James served in the United States Air Force. Later, he worked as a civil servant at Fort Jackson and retired from McWaters.

James enjoyed spending time with his family members, drag racing and watching his favorite sports teams, Oakland Raiders and San Antonio Spurs.

James was preceded in death by brothers, Bennie Lee and Ronald Ray.

James will be cherished in memory by his children, James A. Stokes, James L. (Rahat), Reginald (Tiffany) and Jennifer Ray; sisters, Esther (Marion) Jackson and Carolyn (Ronald) Brown; brothers, Billy Gene, Roger (Velma), Harry and Charles Ray; grandchildren, Rayhan and Zaina Ray; sister-in-law, Virginia Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and dear friends.
